Nature and Vision

We dream of a strong cohesiveness among the Filipinos who are in Italy and also, between them and those in the home country. With this, the Filipinos are expected to form a solid and firm oneness that result to their ardor love for their country and fellowmen.

Mission and Objectives

The profound integration of the Filipinos in Italy while not putting aside their Filipino spirit and at the same time advocating and preparing them when they go back to their home country and bringing with them their desire to become active participants in the development of our country is the noble mission that the UKP embraces.

Programs

    Welfare, Solidarity and Advocacy Program

  • This program is UKP’s direct response in its effort to extend assistance to the immediate needs of the OFWs and for their alleviation from their present situation, fight for their rights and protection of their interests.

    • Research, Information and Documentation Program

  • This is the UKP’s program that will provide help in for the more effective implementation of other programs by means of providing fast and sufficient information from its research and documentation. It shall utilize the UKP website as the channel of information and in other forms for the faster and more extensive dissemination of information gathered.

    • Education and Cultural Program

  • This program shall handle and undertake the activities that will respond to the enrichment of the OFWs’ Filipino spirit and development in terms of different skills needed in their jobs, businesses and others.

    • Organizational Administrative Development Program

  • To ensure the achievement of the above-mentioned programs, the development of the association by means of enlarging and strengthening of its membership, and sustainability of its financial resources.

Ang Kasaysayan ng Konsolado ng Pilipinas sa Firenze

Noong Oktubre 28, 2007 ang araw ng inagurasyon ng Tanggapan ng Onoraryo Konsolado ng Pilipinas sa Florence. Pinasimulan ito ng isang misa sa Simbahan ng Katoliko ng San Barnaba at sinundan ng pagbasbas ng tanggapan ni Fr. Edison Escario. Sa araw din na ito ginanap ang pagdiriwang sa ika-60 Anibersaryo ng Pagkakaibigan ng bansang Italya at Pilipinas. Isang programa ang inialay dito na dinaluhan ng mga awtorita bilang mga panauhin. Panauhin pandangal si Ambassador Phillip Lhuillier mula sa Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Roma. Sa okasyon na ito kaniyang ipinakilala si Dr. Fabio Fanfani bilang Onoraryo Konsole. Ginanap sa Salone dei Cinqueceinto sa Palazzo Vecchio, Firenze. Tinanggap ng Tanggapan ng Konsolato ang unang aplikanteng Pilipino noong ika-11 ng Disyembre, 2007.

Tinanggap ni Kalihim Alberto Romulo ng DFA ang rekomendasyon mula kay Ambassador Lhuillier at sa maramihang lagda mula sa mga Pilipino sa Florence na nagiindorso kay Dr. Fanfani para sa posisyon Onoraryo Konsul. Mula sa ilan lamang buwan ng paghihintay, ang pagsang-ayon ng mga ito ay pinadala sa Embahada ng Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng Liham Pagtatalaga na nilagdaan ng Kalihim.
